摘要

Data gathering in Delay Tolerant Mobile Sensor Network is a challenge task for that DTMSN owns some unique characteristics such as sensor mobility, intermittent connectivity, etc. Though some studies have been carried out for data delivery in DTMSN, most of them only focus on opportunistic connectivity because the link is the scarce resource in delay tolerant network. To search for the potential connectivity, sensor nodes have to scan their neighbors at all times with their energy exhausted quickly. To make trade-off between opportunistic connectivity and energy consumption, we propose a Data delivery protocol with Periodic Sleep (DPS) tailored for DTMSN. Based on their delivery probability and their distance to the sink, sensor nodes choose their sleep schedule to save the energy. The higher delivery probability and the shorter distance to the sink, the less time they sleep in order to improve the connectivity around the sink. Simulation results show that DPS achieves a longer network lifetime with a high data delivery ratio.
