摘要

Les Barges creek is located in the south of les Bois Noirs Mountains (Eastern Massif Central, France). The upper part of the catchment has been interdisciplinary studied, combining pollen and diatoms analyses, pedological studies as well as radiocarbon dating. The main aim was to reconstitute environmental evolutions over the course of the last millennia and, especially, to characterize and date the stages of agro-pastoralism development. Anthropogenic Pollen Indicators (API) as well as diatom indicators of agro-pastoralism appear suddenly during the middle of the 7th century AD. Only hydro-pedological changes with peat inception appear from Hallstatt period (from 2,750 cal. BP). Mechanisms of the formation of these minerogenic peatlands suggest human footprints and the possibilities of an older impact of agro-pastoralism activities than API increases. A clear threshold in human pressure is revealed during the XIth century AD. This period seems to be the most intensive for the setting up of the agro-pastoralism system and landscapes of Bois Noirs Mountain. Finally, the pollen diagram shows the decrease of agriculture activities during the XVIth and the XVIIIth centuries correlated with the Little Ice Age.
