摘要

N,N'-bis(octylcarbamoylmethyl)-4,4'-bipyridinium dichloride (C(8)BpyeaCl(2)) has been synthesized by microwave irradiation and used as a paper-based oxygen indicator. C(8)BpyeaCl(2) exhibits excellent and reversible photochromic properties. UV irradiation causes it to change from white to dark purple in 20 s, and returns to its initial color in air within 20 min. The color loss is also dependent on the oxygen concentration after irradiation; the lower the oxygen concentration, the more slowly the color fades, and this process is irreversible in the absence of oxygen. This compound could be used for the fast detection of oxygen by naked eye recognition of the color change and recycled at least five times.
