摘要

Novel three-dimensional (3D) spherical CuO nanoflowers were fabricated in a controlled fashion by a one-step template-free process. Spherical CuO nanoflowers constructed by nanoflake building blocks of about 40 similar to 80 mu in thickness, 50 similar to 100 run in width, and 200 similar to 260 nm in length were obtained through the direct reaction of CuCl2 and NaOH at 110 degrees C for 12 h. The alkali concentration, as well as the reaction temperature, has shown its importance for the self-assembled growth of nanoflakes into hierarchical spherical nanostructures. The present work might provide a general route towards the preparation of novel 3D hierarchical spherical assembly nanostructures, for which a number of promising applications in various fields can be envisioned.
