A New Nortriterpenoid Saponin from the Fruit of Akebia trifoliata

A new nortriterpenoid saponin, 2 alpha,3 beta,23-trihydroxy-30-nor-olean-12,20(21)-dien-28-oic acid-alpha-Lrhamnopyranosyl-(1 -> 4)-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 -> 6)-beta-D-glucopyranoside was isolated from the fruit of Akebia trifoliata (Thunb.) Koidz. Its structure was elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data.
