摘要
Necrotizing fasciitis is a rare aggressive infection of the soft tissue. The pathological hallmark of the condition is necrosis of fascia. Necrosis may extend to involve the subcutaneous tissue, and secondarily, skin and underlying muscle. Cases have polymicrobial infection as the underlying factor, with synergistic aerobes and anaerobes involved.
This report is the case of necrotizing fasciitis of the left leg. Diagnosis based on a thorough history and physical examination. The therapy included fasciotomy with wide debridation, antibioticotherapy (ampicilin, gentamycin and clindamycin). The patient died in three days after the debut of disease.
