Anomalous conductivity behaviour in copper solutions used for surface finishing

摘要

Conductivity measurements have been obtained for copper solutions used in both electrodeposition and electroless process solutions, in particular sulphate, nitrate, acetate and chloride. A discontinuity in the conductivity data with varying temperature was observed which corresponded to a stage-wise ionic dehydration and a critical transition temperature of similar to 50 degrees C. Similar behaviour has been noted previously for nickel salts, both by the authors and other workers, and it may be more common than previously supposed.
