摘要

In the literature there are only very few reports on fatalities due to attacks by rams. In autumn and winter rams show increased aggressive behavior due to sexual competition. Rams can cause serious injuries to humans by jumping and butting. In the presented case a 76-year-old farmer%26apos;s wife was attacked by a ram while releasing sheep in the pasture. She was found lifeless by her daughter-in-law. At autopsy there were severe chest trauma, multiple bilateral rib fractures and a fracture of the 11th thoracic vertebra. The cause of death was severe chest trauma. Fatal injuries are not only due to jumping but also to butting against the chest of persons lying on the floor.
