摘要

The aggregation, deposition, and dysfunction of alpha-synuclein (aSyn) are common events in neuro-degenerative disorders known as synucleinopathies. Dementia with Lewy Bodies (DLB), characterized by alfa-sinuclein protein deposit in both neuronal and glial cells, represents the second most common cause of neurodegenerative dementia after Alzheimer%26apos;s disease (AD) and its prevalence varies from 0% to 30,5% of all dementia cases. The goal of this review is to analyze the epidemiologic, genetic, biomolecular and clinical features of DLB in order to improve diagnostic accuracy and therapeutic management of this disease so often underdiagnosed because of its multifaceted aspects.
