A 5.8-GHz Active Transmitting Array Based on Frequency Shiftable Vector Modulator Module

This study presents a 1 x 8 active transmitting array based on frequency shiftable vector modulator (FSVM) module. The FSVM module, which should be treated as a separate module, is capable of flexibly shifting the operating band of the vector modulator (VM) while not deteriorating the passing signal. By employing this module, a 1 x 8 active transmitting array with a radio frequency (RF) path beamforming structure is developed and fabricated. Measured results validate the concept of the proposed FSVM module and demonstrate the high-precision beam scanning capability of the active array.
