摘要

In this study, an enhanced finite element (FE) model enriched with a concrete constitutive material formulation was developed for investigating the effects of CFRPs (carbon fiber reinforced polymers) on the retrofitting of reinforced concrete (RC) two-way slabs with lateral and corner openings. For concrete behavior simulation, a sophisticated material model was formulated and identified (the parameters of the material model calibrated using available laboratory test results). For verifying the FE model, available experimental results from a previous study conducted on slabs with central openings were used. The obtained results indicate that the proposed FE model can predict the structural behavior of these slabs well. After this, two rectangular slabs with lateral and corner openings were simulated and strengthened with some geometric patterns of CFRPs. It was determined that the CFRPs can recover the load-bearing capacity of such slabs considerably because of the mentioned openings. Furthermore, it was established that the combined 45 and 900 arrangement of CFRPs can be more effective in strengthening weakened slabs with openings than the other CFRP arrangements.
