摘要

Blood pressure is an important vital sign that reflects systemic and focal changes. It is used as endpoint in clinical physical examination of virtually all specialties in health field, when undergoes changes from normal levels, often does so silently. The procedure for measuring blood pressure can not be neglected because based on the values obtained it is the plano f treating a disease. Given its importance, the measurements deserves attention and criteria to optimize the measured values, which are of paramount importance in assessing the systemic condition and the evolution of the patients' health. To perform this survey we evaluated the theoretical and practical knowledge of 10 physicians, 10 nurses and 10 nursing technicians observing the procedure of measuring blood pressure and also by a questionnaire with 10 questions. Both the questionnaire and the procedure were divided into theoretical and practical questions. In the questionnaire, physicians have excelled in theoretical issues (40%) and nurses in the practical approach (40%). In the procedures for blood pressure measurements, nurses and physicians had the same perfomance on practical approach, but in the theoretical one nurses stood out. Note that, in general, physicians have their medical blood pressure training, focused on theory, while technicians on practice and nurses are in balance between theory and practice. Only in comparisons between nurses and doctors and between doctors and technicians on the theoretical questions of the questionnaire showed statistically significant differences (p<0.05).
