High- quality (1 - x) (Mg0.95Co0.05) 2(Ti0.95Sn0.05) O-4- x(Ca0.8Sm0.4/3)TiO3 ceramics were prepared by solid-state reaction. The products were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and network analyzer. (Mg0.95Co0.05) 2(Ti0.95Sn0.05)O-4 (MCTS) has a dielectric constant (epsilon(r)) of similar to 14.7, a high quality factor (Q x f) of similar to 330,134 GHz, and a temperature coefficient of resonant frequency (tau(f)) of similar to-46ppm/degrees C. To produce a temperature-stable material, (Ca0.8Sm0.4/3)TiO3 (CST) which has a large positive value tau(f) of +400 ppm/degrees C, was added to MCTS. 0.84 MCTS-0.16CSTs an excellent combination of microwave dielectric properties: epsilon(r) similar to 22.5, Qxf similar to 206,000GHz (at 9 GHz), and tau(f) similar to -0ppm/degrees C sinter at 1325 degrees C and can be utilized in the fabrication of microwave devices.
