摘要

This study proposes a novel grid-tied power conversion interface that connects a renewable energy source to the utility. The proposed grid-tied power conversion interface is composed of an H-bridge inverter, a selection switch set and a boost power converter. The proposed grid-tied power conversion interface generates a five-level AC voltage. The boost power converter is only operated when the magnitude of the utility voltage is greater than the voltage of the renewable energy source. A part of the power from the renewable energy source is directly converted to AC power via the selection switch set and the H-bridge inverter. Therefore, the power conversion efficiency of the proposed grid-tied power conversion interface is improved. The proposed grid-tied power conversion interface contains only six power electronic switches so the power circuit is simplified. The performance of the proposed grid-tied power conversion interface is verified experimentally.
