摘要

A novel and compact rectangular increasing-distance spiral slots (RIDSS) structure has been proposed for photonic bandgap (PBG) applications. The dimension of the RIDSS structure is only about 1/8gimel at the cutoff frequency. Only three cells of the RIDSS-PBG are sufficient for the measured >20-dB stopband from 1470 to 2034 MHz, thus rendering the whole structure super-compact.
