One novel binucear manganese(II) complex Mn(2)(phen)(2)center dot(o-ABA)(4)center dot(H(2)O()2) with o-acetamidobenzoic acid (o-ABA) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) has been synthesized and characterized. Crystal data for this complex: monoclinic, space group P2(1)/c, a=0,80226(16) nm, b=2.6186(5) nm, c=1.281 6(3) nm, beta=95.83(3)degrees, V=2.6785(9) nm(2), D(c)=1.511 g.cm(-3), Z=2, F(000)=1 260, Final GooF=1.084, R(1)=0.057 8, wR(2)=0.118 9. The crystal structure shows that two neighboring manganese (II) ions are linked together by two bridging o-acetamidobenzoic acid, forming a cage structure. The Mn(I)center dot center dot center dot Mn(1A) bond distance is 0.3423 nm. Each manganese(II) ion is coordinated with two nitrogen atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline molecule and four oxygen atoms from three o-acetamidobenzoic acid radicals and one water molecule, forming distorted octahedral coordination geometry. The result of TG analysis shows that the title complex was stable under 190.0 degrees C(circle) CCDC: 741934.
