In order to prepare longer TiO2 nano-tube with high specific surface area, Ti sheet was anodic oxidized under direct voltage of 20 V in solution of 0.5 wt% NaF+glycerin for 7 h at 0, 20 and 40 degrees C. Results show that the length of the TiO2 nano-tube is 1034, 2601 and 5152 nm for oxidation at 0, 20 and 40 degrees C, respectively. With temperature increasing, the diffusion coefficient of the solution increases, diffusion of H+ speeds up near the Ti sheet, and thus the rate of pH reduction slows down; as a result, the TiO2 nano-tube growth is promoted at 40 degrees C. In the solution of 0.5 wt% NaF+glycerin at 40 degrees C for 12 h, TiO2 nano-tube can grow to above 10 mu m long, and the specific surface area achieves 208 m(2).g(-1).
