A cocrystal of pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid and serine

The title compound, pyridine-2,4-dicarboxylic acid-S-serine (1/1), C7H5NO4 center dot C3H7NO3, has serine in its zwitterionic form. The crystal structure is stabilized by an extensive series of intermolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O, N-H center dot center dot center dot N and N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
