摘要

We propose an angular-velocimeter with a carbon nanotube resonator for sensing the angular velocity of a rotating body. When centrifugal force exerted by the rotation of the system causes an elongation of the carbon nanotube resonator due to the centrifugal force, the frequency spectra of centrifugal force is dependent on the angular velocity of the rotating plate, and feedback sensing is then achieved via operating frequency shift. Such a nanoelectromechanical device is investigated via molecular dynamics simulations and the classical continuum theory. The model of the classical continuum theory is in good agreement with the results obtained from the classical molecular dynamics simulations.
