In summary, diameter is the direct factor affects air content, air content will decrease with the diameter increases. It can be con-cluded that the parameters influence fiber diameter during electrospinning process, it also influence air content. To get electrospun PAN nanofiber, nonwovens with high air content about 99%, it can fix the polymer con-centration on 8%, the voltage fixed on 20 kV, the tip-to-collector distance on 15 cm. By optimization, electrospun nonwovens can be achieved by controlling the parameters. It can be expected that the electrospun nonwovens can be applied into different areas in future.
