摘要

This paper presents a specially designed energy harvester associated with a piezoelectric-patched cantilever beam to achieve higher power in a broadband operating frequency. The proposed energy harvester is designed with a piezoelectric cantilever beam which has a step section. Then, the generated output voltages are evaluated with respect to the step thickness in which vibration mode frequencies and mode shapes are different. It is shown that the inclusion of the step and the variation of the step thickness significantly affects to the output voltages due to the shift of the operating frequency range of the energy harvester. Subsequently, the energy harvesting performance is evaluated by changing the location of the overhang to find out the effectiveness with respect to the operating frequency range. It is shown that the wider operating frequency range is achieved by varying the overhang length compared with conventional energy harvester in which the variation of the overhang location is not considered. The excellent performances of the proposed energy harvester showing higher harvesting power in the wider operating frequency is demonstrated through both analytical simulation and experimental implementation.
