FACILE AND EFFICIENT SYNTHESIS OF 1-[3-(4-CHLOROPHENYL) [1,8] NAPHTHYRIDIN-2-YL]-3-(2-OXO-2H-CHROMENYL)-1H-4-PYRAZOLECARBALDEHYDES

Microwave irradiation of 3-[2-(3-(4-chlorophenyl)-[1,8]-naphthyridin-2-yl) ethanhydrazonyl]-2H-2-chromenones (hydrazones) 3 on silica gel supported POCl(3)(-)DMF (Vilsmeier-Haack reagent) under solvent-free conditions provides an efficient and convenient method for the synthesis of 1-[3-(4-chlorophenyl)-[1,8] naphthyridin-2-yl]-3-(2-oxo-2H-chromenyl)-1H-4-pyrazolecarbaldehydes 4. The products are obtained in good yields and in a state of high purity.
