Application of 2D Barcode Technology in Auto Parts Management

2D barcode has many features, including a high coding capacity, error correcting capability, recognition reliability, etc. And it is most applicable for direct labeling of articles especially, thus is used widely. This paper discussed the application of 2D barcode technology in auto parts management, including production management control, warehouse management, quality traceability and product recall, and analyzed the key technical issues of 2D barcode application further. A conclusion is drawn as follows: as long as the industry dominators, especially OEMs, becomes managers of supply chain collaboration or providers of platform information, then the difficulty and complexity of 2D barcode application can be effectively reduced based on mature DPM technology and uniform 2D barcode standard.
