Hydrothermal Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Nickel(II) Coordination Polymer Assembled by 5-Nitroisophthalic Acid and 1,4-Bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)-benzene Ligands

A new metal-organic coordination polymer [Ni(NIPH)(bix)(H2O)(2)](n) (1, H2NIPH=5-nitroisophthalic acid, bix=1,4-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)-benzene) has been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TG, UV and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The title compound crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group Prima with a=1.743 62(8) nm, b=2.128 96(9) nm, c=0.568 59(3) nm, V=2.110 66(17) nm(3), C22H21N5NiO8, M-r=542.15, D-c=1.706 g.cm(-3), mu(Mo K alpha)=0.984 mm(-1), F(000)=1 120, Z=4, the final R=0.032 4 and wR=0.819 for 1 703 observed reflections (I>2 sigma(I)). It exhibits a one-dimensional chain-like structure. CCDC: 857178.
