Fifty-eight of the pediatric incidents were fatalities, 589 required emergency medical transport, and 995 were minor treat and release incidents. Hiking activities accounted for 20% of all incidents and 26% were swimming and boating related. Swimming and boating incidents were responsible for 62% of all fatalities.
Conclusions. - It was concluded that children aged 0-6 years account for almost 20% of all outdoor sport incidents and that swimming and boating were the most common activities leading to fatalities.
