摘要

Among the most commonly applied methods for the treatment of wastewaters, air and soil, adsorption has proved as one of the most effective alternative techniques. The usage of natural mineral sorbents is increasing because of their abundance and low price. Bentonite, perlite and zeolite from deposits in the southern part of Bulgaria as well as zeolites from deposits in Romania have been studied for the removal of toxic organic compounds from their aqueous solutions. They have been characterised by their chemical composition, specific surface area and particle size distribution. The kinetic and equilibrium experiments of p-chlorophenol (p-Cl?), 2,4-dichlorophenol (2,4-DCP), 3,5-dichlorophenol (3,5-DCP), 2,3,6-trichlorophenol (2,3,6-TCP), o-nitrophenol (o-NP), p-nitrophenol p-NP), 2,4-dinitrophenol (2,4-DNP), acid dye Erionil Marine Blau (EMB) and two basic dyes were carried out using their single model solutions. The sorptive characteristics of the natural materials were compared.
