摘要

Nitric oxide (NO), a reactive free radical, regulates a variety of biological processes. Therefore its accurate detection and quantification are critical to understand health and disease. In this review, two types of fluorescent probes for NO are mainly described, namely, metal-based sensors, which utilizing NO binding to the metal center, such as Co(II), Fe(II), Ru(II), Rh(II) and Cu(II) complexes as turn-on fluorescent NO sensors; Organic molecule-based sensors, which are mainly diamine fluorescent indicators for NO, such as DAN, DAFs, DARs, BODIPY and DACs.
