摘要

Proteins are essential involved in variety of cellular functions and disease processes. Microarray technology measure thousands of genes simultaneously from expression levels in a microarray experiment, which can benefit us to further explore the interaction mechanism of proteins. For the purpose, we developed an efficient algorithm to identify network modules in Protein-protein Interaction (PPI) networks based on gene expression profiles. The found modules in a given PPI network are suggestive of a complex or a distinct functional pathway. We use a seed-expand method to search network modules and evaluate them by using GO annotations and KEGG Pathway. The results show that the identified modules are statistically significant in terms of GO annotations and KEGG Pathway Enrichment.
