Analysis on the Effects of Air Gap on Cooling of Motorized Spindle

摘要

Finite element model of internal flow field and temperature field were established of 100MD60Y4 motorized spindle, to analyze the effect of air gap on the cooling of the stator and rotor and bearing of motorized spindle. Research indicates, the larger the air gap of the motorized spindle, the higher the temperature of the stator and rotor of motorized spindle, the cooling effect will be worse. The smaller the air gap of the spindle, the lower the temperature rise of stator and rotor of motorized spindle, the cooling effect will be better. The simulation analysis and experimental research show that bearing temperature rise has nothing to do with the air gap.
