摘要

A surface wave method for nondestructive test of concrete was developed to provide a 2-D image of the distribution of shear wave velocity. Because the shear wave velocity can reflect the strength of the concrete better, this method provides more important information for quality control during construction and for management during its operation. This method was applied to an investigation of concrete lining of a water tunnel. The results show that this method is fast and effective. Also, with a few laboratory test data, the compressive strength from shear wave velocity distribution was estimated successfully. Compared with existing methods, such as Schmidt Hammer and various elastic wave methods, the surface wave method not only gives the surface strength, but also its distribution in depth.
