摘要
Various 2-substituted benzimidazole derivatives in moderate to good yield have been prepared in a one-pot reaction by condensation of o-phenylenediamine and an aldehyde in the presence of ammonium chloride as a catalyst at 80-90 degrees C. The reaction is green and economically viable.
