摘要

Current treatment methods allow for the patient early recovery, reduced mortality, hip function restoration, the patient return to the preoperative status within the shortest time frame possible.
In the present study 18 cases of trochanteric fractures were analysed, monitoring aspects related to the two treatment principles, rigid osteosynthesis and elastic osteosynthesis, the age of the patients, the biomaterials that were used, as well as aspects related to the lower limb functional recovery after surgery. Following the analysis of the cases, it was observed that the management of trochanteric fractures by rigid osteosynthesis prevailed over the one by elastic osteosynthesis for the patients under 50 years of age, while the management of trochanteric fractures by elastic osteosynthesis prevailed over the one by rigid osteosynthesis for the patients over 50 years of age.
In this study, the following implants were mainly used: blade plate implant, Dynamic Hip Screw - DHS system, Gamma nail and Ender intramedullary rods.
The biomaterials used to manufacture the implants for osteosynthesis (plates, screws, rods, pins, internal prostheses) are classified according to the material class in: austenitic stainless steels, cobalt-chromium alloys, titanium and titanium-based alloys.
