Using MODIS data to evaluate forest fire risk in East Asia area

In this paper, towards fire risk assessment, we investigate the NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index), LST (Land surface temperature) values in the forest fire spots before the fires were occurred. This year, in Tokyo University of information sciences two new receiving satellite stations was established in Hokkaido and Miyakojima respectively. So we can get modis remote-sensing data in much more wide area. It make it possible for us to investigate the forest fire caused condition in almost the total area of East Asia. The Forest fire is detected by using modis mod 14 that is calculated from Terra's data.
