The title compound, C14H14N2O6S, is an intermediate for the synthesis of beta-3-adrenergic receptor agonists. The two methoxy groups are approximately coplanar with the attached benzene ring [C-O-C-C = -2.7 (4) and 9.4 (4)degrees]. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 67.16 (12)degrees. An intramolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bond is observed. In the crystal, molecules are linked into chains along the c axis by C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds.
