Different T-c-suppression rates between Mn doped La214 and Bi2201 systems

Polycrystalline samples Bi1.6Pb0.4Sr1.6La0.4Cu1-xMnxOy (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.4) and La1.85-xSr0.15+xCu1-xMnxOy (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.5) were synthesized by the solid state reaction method. The superconductivity, spin dynamics and lattice vibration were investigated by means of resistivity, electron spin resonance spectrum and infrared spectrum. It was found that Mn doping suppresses T-c more effectively in La214 system than that in Bi2201 system. The different chemical environment and microstructure between the two systems are suggested to be responsible for the different spin dynamics behaviors and T-c-suppression rates.
