摘要

Space-time block coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (STBC-OFDM) is a multi-antenna and multi-carriers system. How to allocate power among antennas and carriers is a key problem when adaptive power allocation method is used to STBC-OFDM system. In this paper, a novel algorithm for allocation of power is proposed. The algorithm firstly selects the antenna with the least fading, then allocates the power to carriers to minimize the bit error rate (BER). Comparing with the traditional power allocation algorithm, the power allocation weights is quantized to improve the utilization of wireless channel. Additionally, by the quantization of channel fading, the allocation power algorithm is easily applied. When the number of subcarriers are equal to 4, simulation results show that there is 5dB gain by comparing with the traditional method at the BER of 0.1%. Moreover, the performance of the algorithm is improved as the number of the carriers increase.
