摘要

Febrile urinary tract infection is the most common serious bacterial infection in childhood, but the most appropriate evaluation of children with this condition is still unclear, overall regarding the best long-term management of children after a first UTI. Here we review current recommendations for tine diagnosis, treatment, imaging evaluation and use of antibiotic prophylaxis in children with the first febrile urinary tract infection. Nevertheless, the development of a universally accepted diagnostic protocol remains elusive.
