摘要

We study the magnetization plateaus of a finite Ising chain. Based on the transfer-matrix method, we derived the exact formula of the average magnetization. Compared to the conventional one-dimensional Ising model, the finite chain can present more plateaus due to the open boundary. As the impure spin with single-ion anisotropy presented, the system exhibits more exotic magnetization plateaus and spin configurations. We also explore the effects of various anisotropies on the magnetization process.
