摘要

To deal with the problem of ineffective extraction in underwater target feature extraction methods based on traditional time-frequency analysis, a new time-frequency analysis method, the Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) was applied. Both simulation and experimental data analysis revealed that HHT has high resolution ability. The Hilbert marginal spectrum can highlight the elastic parts of the target. The Hilbert spectrum shows the highlighted structure of targets, as well as more accurate than Wavelet Transform in time-frequency resolution. The research shows different properties between the Hilbert spectrums of a target echo and of reverberation, and the Hilbert marginal spectrum can restrain reverberation efficiently. It is clear that HHT is an effectively method for extracting characteristics of underwater targets.
