摘要

Starting from the kinetic equation, we formulated the Boltzmann transport equation of transverse spin current in the weak-coupling limit. The transverse spin current is calculated in a ferromagnetic metal sandwiched by ideal leads and is compared with that obtained under relaxation time approximation. We showed that relaxation time approximation underestimates the magnitude of the transverse spin current. We also showed that the crossover from the ballistic transport to the diffusive transport of the transverse spin current occurs at a smaller value of the mean free path than that obtained under relaxation time approximation.
