5In this article, a bandpass filter with a wide stopband is proposed for the wireless local area network (WLAN) system. The filter is mainly composed of a dual-mode bandpass filter (DM-BPF) and a controllable bandstop structure (CBS). By using the CBS, multiple transmission zeros can be located on the spurious responses of the DM-BPF. The design procedure is discussed in detail in this article. The designed filter is fabricated and measured. Measured results have a good agreement with the simulated results.
