Female sexual dysfunction is more frequent in women with diabetes. The principal risk factor associated with female sexual dysfunction seems to be depression.
Sexual dysfunction is linked to the presence of complication in women with type 2 diabetes. Metabolic factors such as excessive weight or the metabolic syndrome can also negatively influence sexuality.
Sex life is a subject that should be mentionned with all diabetic women to evaluate the impact of diabetes on this aspect on health.
