摘要

Metal spinning has seen significant development in recent years and spun products have been widely used in various industries. However the process setup for new spun parts still relies on experienced spinners who use trial-and-error methods. In this study, the effects of three process parameters on variations of dimensions of the spun parts during a single-pass conventional spinning experiment have been analysed using the Taguchi method. Corresponding finite element analysis models have been developed using commercial software ABAQUS. Some correlations have been found between the experimental and the simulation results. Based on the finite element models, stresses and strains of the workpiece during the spinning process have been analysed.
