Novel organogelators based on phytosphingosine

摘要

Novel organogelators using phytosphingosine as a platform were synthesized and their organogelation properties were examined. These gelators formed the organogels in alkanes, aromatic solvents, mineral oils, vegetable oils, and silicone oils. The organogels formed by the urea gelators were rigid and showed high thermal stability. The FT-IR and atomic force microscopic studies indicated that the gelator molecules created three-dimensional networks through entangling the self-assembled nanofibers and the organogelation was induced by trapping solvent molecules into nano- and microspaces in the three-dimensional network.
