摘要

A model-III crack under adhesion is studied by non-uniform linear spring models. Employing complex variable method and conformal mapping technique, a closed-form solution is obtained, and an explicit relation between the stress intensity factor and spring stiffness is established. Results show that adhesion reduces the stress intensity factor, and the reduction effect increases with increasing spring stiffness and crack length. As a result of adhesion, the stress intensity factor given by the present model first increases quickly with increasing crack length when the crack length is relatively small, and decreases slowly with increasing crack length after reaching its maximum at a critical crack length.
