摘要

PVC waste is widely known as being a major environmental problem. The combustion process of this waste in circulating fluidized bed (CFB) is one of the most promising modern techniques. In this research, the hydrodynamics of PVC resin was studied in a cold flow CFB. Electrostatic effect of PVC causes particles to adhere to the inner column, preventing an observation of flow pattern during the test runs. Therefore, anti-static powder was added to reduce electrostatic effects in the system. The objective of this research was to investigate the flow pattern of PVC with and without anti-static powder. The cold flow CFB's riser has a diameter of 5 cm and height of 200 cm. The mean diameter and density of PVC resin are 140 micron and 1,410 kg/m(3), respectively. Superficial gas velocities used were in the range of 5.0-7.0 m/s. From the preliminary results, it was found that an addition of anti-static powder reduced electrostatic force between PVC particles and the riser column.
