We give an application of the New Intersection Theorem and prove the following: let be a local complete intersection ring of codimension and let and be nonzero finitely generated -modules. Assume is a nonnegative integer and that the tensor product is an th syzygy of some finitely generated -module. If , then both and are th syzygies of some finitely generated -modules.
