摘要

This paper presents a regional backup protection algorithm based on the adaptive current protection suiting factor, which can be applied to power system with regional centralized backup protection. First, the influence of the adaptive current protection operation status on fault identification is defined as the adaptive current protection effectiveness degree. Second, the effectiveness degree is used as the weight for the adaptive current protection suiting degree function and suiting degree expectation function. Then, the fault line is identified according to the value of the adaptive current protection suiting factor, which is defined as the ratio of the adaptive current protection suiting degree function to the suiting degree expectation function. In the proposed algorithm, the adaptive current protection criterion is introduced; thus, it can be applied to lines with voltage level of 110kV or lower. The proposed algorithm provides regional backup protection with a more reliable information source and makes it adaptable to the variation in system operation mode and fault type. Furthermore, the demand on system information synchronization is relatively low. Even when a large number of digits in the current protection operation information are missing or wrong, the proposed algorithm is still able to identify the fault correctly, and the method is proved highly fault tolerant. Finally, simulation tests verify the correctness and effectiveness of proposed algorithm.
