摘要

The two-step approach proposed by Tsai is simply implemented, and widely used in different applications. But Tsai calibration method requires prior information such as the image center and the scale factor which would affect the accuracy of calibration results in the end. An improved approach is presented in this paper. Firstly, the image center is updated in the imaging model with radial distortion by minimizing the projection error. Secondly, the external and internal parameters of the camera are refined by the nonlinear optimization algorithm to optimize the global parameters. Experimental results show that the calibration accuracy of presented method is over 10% higher than that of Tsai's.
