摘要

The efficacy and efficiency of structured diabetes education is backed up by good evidence. A number of empirical results, which are summarized in a series of systematic reviews and meta-analyses, give crucial suggestions about modern patient education and its implementation in practice. In Germany the efficacy of diabetes education is evaluated on the basis of structured education and therapy programmes. The content, methods and results of certified diabetes education programmes in Germany will be described and evaluated according to established quality criteria.
